Chief Gen Bipin Rawat chopper crashed in Tamil Nadu

Chief Gen Bipin Rawat is the 1st Chief of Defence Staff of India. 
Today, unfortunate news spreading everywhere that 
Chief Gen Bipin Rawat's helicopter was crashed in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. 

Chief Gen Bipin Rawat was with his beloved wife Madhulika Rawat, along with other army members - Brig LS Lidder, Lt Col Harjinder Singh, NK Gursewak Singh, NK Jitendra Kr, L/Naik Vivek Kumar, L/Naik B Sai Teja & Hav Satpal, ANI. 

A total of 14 people include Chief Gen Bipin Rawat were on the crashed helicopter. 

From the official sources, four bodies have been recovered and three injured persons rescued from the accident site. There was no accurate information on the rescue of Chief Gen Bipin Rawat.

The trip was planned from the Sulur IAF base to the Defence Services College. This tragedy occurred in the Nilgiris district, near a hilly area between Coimbatore and Sulur. The crash site was named as was Katteri-Nanchappanchathram.

General Bipin Laxman Singh Rawat is a four-star general of the Indian Army.

The first and current Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) of India  

On 30 December 2019, General Rawat got the opportunity to be appointed as the first CDS of India and assumed office from 1 January 2020.

Before taking the responsibilities of CDS, General Rawat served as 57th and last Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee and 26th Chief of Army Staff of the Indian Army.

General Rawat was born in a Hindu Garhwali Rajput family in Pauri, Uttarakhand.
