India vs Australia 3rd test: Sweep shot the barrier to Aussies on Indian tracks

India has gained an unbeatable lead of 2-0 in the Border-Gavaskar trophy which means Aussies can only have the best possible outcome of  2-2. The World Test Championship points table has now become more interesting with the recent result. The spinners were in complete dominance for both teams taking 28 wickets out of 33.

The venue for the upcoming test was earlier Dharamshala but later shifted to Indore. The Australians are not supposed to get any relief even from this venue as the spinners are more likely to get help from the surface. But it is important to notice that Indian batters have also not performed well in these conditions apart from Rohit Sharma none of the Indian top-order and middle-order batters have performed well so far.

The Aussies have overhyped the notion that sweep is the best option against the spin, which has gone in India's favor; they prefer more horizontal bat shorts rather than playing with a straight bat and collecting singles and doubles. However, in Australian conditions, it is an excellent option to go for the sweep as the bounce is trustworthy and does not keep low even at the later stage of the test. Australia needs to come prepared for a spin and other alternatives to sweep as they cannot get over the spin duo of Ashwin and Jadeja with this option.

There will be some changes to the Australian side as David Warner has been ruled out for the rest of the series. Josh Hazelwood and Ashton Agar have also left for Australia. Also, for the Indian team, there will be questions about KL Rahul's performance but the Indian team management seems in no hurry to change the playing 11 and will provide a few more chances to get his confidence and form back.
