Since India's independence, there have been several female IAS officers employed by the government. In this piece, we'll examine 10 female IAS officials whose stories are both inspiring and interesting.

1. Preeti Sudan

Preeti Sudan served as the Department of Food and public distribution's secretary. Priti is an IAS officer from the 1983 batch who is a member of the Andhra cadre. They held a variety of posts at the federal and state levels during their tenure, including joint secretary in the Ministry of Defense and positions in tourism and disaster management.

The Indian government's Ayushman Bharat Yojana, which seeks to provide free secondary and tertiary health care to the bottom 40% of the country's impoverished and vulnerable inhabitants, was developed and implemented by her as a result of her prominence. In addition to all of the aforementioned duties, she served as a consultant for the World Bank.

2. Tina Dabi

Tina Dabi 

Tina Dabi, a 23-year-old IAS official who has been employed as a sub-divisional magistrate since 2018, joined the organization in 2018. In order to avoid the coronavirus from spreading, Tina Dabi divided the area and relocated the patients to the isolation and quarantine unit when she was working in Bhilwara, Rajasthan. 

Tina Dabi has become well-known in just a few years of service and is currently one of the most well-known IAS officials. Tina Dabi made careful to impose a lockdown in Bhilwada to halt the virus' spread even before the lockdown was put into effect in the rest of the nation.

Annies Kanmani Joy, the Deputy Commissioner for the Kodagu District in Karnataka is a former nurse. She rose to national prominence for controlling the spread of coronavirus during the covid-19 pandemic in her neighborhood.

Smita Sabharwal is an IAS officer from the 2001 batch who works in the Telangana cadre. She has been working consistently for the Mission Bhagirathi department while also acting as the Chief Minister of Telangana's secretary and the secretary of the rural water supply and sanitation department.

Santha Sheela Nair is another well-known IAS official from the 1973 batch. She worked as the secretary of steel and drinking water supply, vice chair of the Tamil Nadu State Planning Commission, secretary for rural development, municipal administration, water supply, and other positions throughout her period of service. She left her position in July 2010.

6. Durga Shakti Nagpal

Durga Shakti Nagpal, a member of the 2009 class, obtained rank 20 after passing the civil service test. She started off as a Trainee IAS officer in the Punjab cadre. When she was promoted to the UP cadre in 2011, she challenged the sand mafia that was taking sand from the Yamuna and Hindon rivers' banks without the government's consent. She is an honest cop who valiantly battled the sand mafia before being suspended by the state government for a number of reasons. She is now the agricultural and farmers' welfare officer on special assignment for the Indian Union.

8. Hari Chandana Dasari

IAS officer from the Telangana cadre Hari Chandana is well-known for kicking off a green revolution in Hyderabad. She has worked on various programs for plastic recycling throughout her time serving in Hyderabad. She has launched a variety of well-known and beneficial programs throughout the course of her career, including Pet Parks, She Toilets, She Mart, Feed the Need, Gives and Share, etc. She now holds the position of collector for Telangana's Narayanpet district.

9. Rajni Sekhri Sibal

In 1986, Rajni Sekhri Sibal became the first woman to place first in the civil services examination. She is currently employed by the Indian government as an assistant secretary for disaster management in the Ministry of home affairs. She was instrumental in creating policies for global collaboration and catastrophe management. During the Kerala flood and other disasters like the cyclones in Orissa, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, etc., she also managed the relief effort. She is regarded as one of the most famous female public workers due to her tireless devotion.

10. Beela Rajesh

Beela Rajesh is currently the secretary of commercial taxes and registration. She is best known for her effort to prevent the spread of the covid-19 pandemic in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
