Why Is The HR Department Important In An Organization? Here Are 5 Primary Reasons!
An HR department consists of several disciplines and performs several duties, five of which are mentioned below:-

Talent management: Talent management is one of the primary roles of any HR department, which includes recruiting, hiring, supporting, and retaining employees. The initial step in building any business is the recruitment of employees, which is a recruiter’s job, an area of talent management. Talent management is a huge aspect that employs other areas as well, including employee relations, an area concerned with building strong relations between the employee and the employer. Workforce planning and management also fall under talent management, which is kicked into action at the time when an employee resigns, retires, is fired or laid off, gets sick, or dies.

Compensation and benefits: The role of HR in compensation is to evaluate the pay practices of competitors and set the groundwork for a compensation structure. For benefits, HR plays a key role in negotiating the prices of the health care coverage group with insurance companies. Payroll generation is also a part of compensation and benefits.

Training and development: Tools such as new employee orientation, leadership training, and managerial training are important for the employees of an organization to succeed. Hence, the training and development of an employee are important aspects in building a strong foundation for the business. The HR team handles the integral function of training and development of employees by building instructional programs that aim to have a direct impact on the success of the business.

HR Compliance: Compliance is an integral part of any HR department. Federal, state, and local government laws can be complex concepts that demand a team dedicated to monitoring the dynamic landscape. The compliance team is expected to completely understand the principles of dozens of rules and regulations, including employment laws.

Workplace safety: A safe work environment is needed by all employees, and business organizations must provide a safe work environment for their employees. A major role of HR is to develop and support safety training while maintaining federally mandated logs. They discuss safety and compliance with relevant government departments and unions to ensure a safe work environment for the employees. Implementing new safety guidelines with changes in the laws is also an integral function of the HR department.
